Akala campaign office attacked

The campaign office of the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State  Otunba Alao Akala was on Wednesday night attacked by hoodlums believed to be sponsored by  political opponent of the former governor.

The office which was located at Mokola Area was said to have been stormed by scores of people with dangerous weapon chanting anti Akala song and trying to gain entry into the office.

The security man who raised the alarm was pursued as the fire several gunshot into the air to scare residence of the residence or anybody who may want to resist them. Though they were unable to gain entrance into the office but the glass at the main entrance was  damage.

The security man on duty simply identify as clement while narrating his ordeal said " they came with bikes and fire several short in the air, I raised alarm and they pursued me in attempt to killed  me but I manage escaped"

The Spokesperson for the former governor Barr Abraham Ojo while confirming  the incident said, the attack was part of the antics  political opponent who are jittery about the soaring image of Otunba Akala.

" Their mission is to vandalize the property and attack supporters of Otunba Alao akala as they have been doing in some days, adding that,Akala will not be intimidated by their treat.

He however urged the security operatives to investigate the attacks and be more firm in their effort to resist any violence form from the opposition.

Similarly, Team Akala a support group for the aspiration of Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala has condemned the act, describing it as an act from a jittery opponent.

The Team's coordinator Prince Niran Adeyoju in a press statement made available to pressmen in Ibadan pointed acussing finger on the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP who have been threatening violence for some moments now " The PDP governorship candidate who was going about with hundreds of hoodlums on Tuesday display his political  immaturity when he ordered his hoodlums to attack people Alao Akala campaign convoy". Despite the presence of heavy security at Oja Oba, the hoodlums still shot in the air an and attacked some of our people.
